Fringe Diary – Day 5: I’ll Second Night That!

 05/08/2017

The day of our second preview, the last day where we’re kind of sort of allowed to cock things up before the official opening night. Luckily, we didn’t. Not as far as I remember anyway.

The day was spent mostly flyering, in the traditional style. We managed to unload a few posters and flyers in various accommodating businesses on our way to the Mile, and to any passers by as would happily take them.

I managed to catch a fairly decent show, Death by Shakespearewhich I would recommend to anyone with a love of physical theatre. Sometime between then and the performance, our first review also dropped. 3 Stars, not bad, and their criticisms were valid. We’re happy with that one.

When the time eventually came from the performance, we were greeted with a much larger audience than the previous night, about 10x the numbers we reckon. And they laughed. A lot. Much more encouraging. Laughter really is communal, as Jake said. A few of us went to the pub afterward to celebrate a job well done, with official opening night the day after looking all the more promising.

Viva la WAAGTD! 😀
