Fringe Diary – Day 15: Fixer Upper

Another day, another show seen. If nothing else, I am managing to see at least one a show a day. That is something.

Today it was Fix, a show about addiction featuring guitars and singing. I really quite enjoyed it, and the song about Dopamine is still stuck in my head.

After that was done, Frazer and spent much of the rest of the day in and out of the usual cafe, eventually going (once again) to BRGR with Dawid and Talia. (BRGR really is just that good okay). A review dropped as well, written by the same person who had (quite rightly) absolutely slaughtered the terribly-written show I brought up last year. This time, they approved of what they saw, and seemed to prefer my comedy acting to my drama writing. The phrase “promoted by way of a demotion” was used which I’m not sure whether to be insulted or flattered by. But whatever, it’s a good review, so we’ll take it.

The performance that night was probably the worst one we’ve had yet. For one thing the audience was very unhelpful, and for another there’s been a bit of a bug going round the group so the energy was a little low for the illness. It doesn’t matter too much, it’s only one bad show our of several decent-to-great ones so we should dwell on it.
