#NaPoWriMo – Completed: A Brief Reflection on the Month

Well, National Poetry Writing Month was fun, and occasionally irritating  😅 but I’m really glad to have got myself back into writing poetry.  I’ve missed it and it’s been great to immerse myself in it again. 

The majority of the poems I wrote this month are piles of shite, not gonna lie. But there’s potential enough in some of them that, with more time, I can hopefully go back, dig through the shite, and make something more polished out of them later.

At least it’s also forced me to keep this blog active for a month as well. So, all in all, yeah this has been a good challenge for me, and I’m happy that my love of poetry is reignited. 😁

#NaPoWriMo – Day 29: ‘Left on Read’

So for my penultimate poem, I decided to have a go at my favourite poetry form, the Villanelle. I’m not hugely happy with it but I think there might be something here I can work with at a later date.

 

Left on Read

I awkwardly asked you, six days ago

with silence in response as they’ve gone by.

Please can’t you just reply and tell me “No”.
